King William Democrats Host Primary Candidates
The King William Democrats hosted four of the seven Democratic Primary Candidates at their booth at the recent King William Juneteenth Celebration! Candidates Tim Cywinski, Jason Knapp, Ericka Kopp, and Shannon Taylor mingled with voters during the festivities celebrating Juneteenth. Democratic Candidates who are also running in the current Primary Election are Elizabeth Dempsey Beggs, Salaam Bhatti, and Mel Tull, all of whom attended the recent May Day Festivities in King William.
These seven Democratic Candidates are running in the current Primary Election. The winner of the primary will be on the ballot in November challenging Republican Rob Wittman, the current Representative in the US House of Representatives.

King William Democrats Host Candidates for Congress
King William Democrats hosted two candidates for Congress at their recent meeting. In all, seven Democratic candidates are running in the First Congressional District Primary in August. The winner of the Democratic Primary will run in November, hoping to unseat Congressman Rob Wittman.
Candidates Tim Cywinski and Salaam Bhatti joined the King William Democrats at their meeting, engaging the group in a spirited discussion of current issues. A recording of the Candidates’ speeches can be found BELOW.
The seven candidates are: Elizabeth Dempsey Beggs, Salaam Bhatti, Tim Cywinski, Jason Knapp, Erika Kopp, Shannon Taylor, and Mel Tull. See their websites for more information. Shannon Taylor and Jason Knapp will be speaking at the KW Democrats’ June Meeting on June 20, 2026.

After our Monthly Meeting some of our candidates running against Robb Wittman, as well as our 5th District Board of Supervisor (Keith Fogg) stopped by to meet more constituents of King William County… We only have three candidates pictured (Elizabeth Dempsy Beggs, Ericka Kopp, Shannon Taylor) but six (not pictured Tim Cywinski, Salaam Bhatti, Jason Knapp) were in attendance!
